Florida State Forests (list of closed Forests in FL)


Important Notice:
The Florida Forest Service will close all campgrounds and recreation areas on State Forests if the county where the State Forest is located is placed under a Tropical Storm or Hurricane WARNING by the National Weather Service. Reservations will be automatically refunded for closures related to tropical weather.
Krul Campground Info: Day Passes are not valid for entry at Krul Campground. Reservations are required for entry and are available 2 days in advance here. Annual passholders also require a reservation, but will be admitted for free.
Effective August 9, 2024 at 2:00 P.M., all campgrounds and recreation areas on the following State Forests remain CLOSED due to Tropical Storm Debby:
Full Closures:
- Belmore State Forest
- John M. Bethea State Forest
- Big Shoals State Forest
- Myakka State Forest
- Cary State Forest
- Ralph E. Simmons State Forest
- Four Creeks State Forest
- Twin Rivers State Forest
Partial Closures:
Jennings State Forest Closures
- • Ellis Ford, Knights Landing, Tar Flower, Indian Ford, and Sundial Roads
- • North Fork Recreation Area, Ellis Ford Recreation Area, Knights Landing Recreation Area, and Indian Ford Recreation Area
- • Bootlegger’s Campground
